The president of the chamber of commerce says Porter introducing flights to North Bay should improve the film industry locally. Jake Lacourse says there haven’t been more movies shot locally because transportation links to Toronto are a big issue. He says movie people go to Toronto three and four times a day to pick up actors and drop things off. That makes it tough if you’re shooting in North Bay, but Lacourse says that will change because Porter creates quick access to Toronto. Lacourse also says more tourists will fly into the city instead of driving because fares are affordable. In addition, Lacourse believes air fares should come down because of the added competition.
