Aino Laamanen, the Tory running Nickel Belt, supports developing the Ring of Fire.
She says there there’s huge job potential at the chromite site. Laamanen adds that First Nation people must be consulted before the Ring of Fire is developed, and protecting the environment is also an important factor.
Also running in Nickel Belt are Stuart McCall of the Green Party, incumbent New Democrat Claude Gravelle, Marc Serre who represents the Liberals, and Marxist-Leninist candidate Dave Starbuck.
