The Federal Conservative candidate in Nickel Belt says people might not like them, but Aino Laamanen says pipelines are a necessity.
Laamanen says we need to move oil, and trucking and rail tend to see many accidents. She says pipelines have their share of problems and it’s why they need to be monitored 24-7 because they’re not going anywhere. Laamanen says for that reason she is in support of the Energy East Pipeline project.
Also running in Nickel Belt are Claude Gravelle who is seeking re-election for the NDP. The other candidates are Stuart McCall from the Greens, Marc Serre of the Liberals and Dave Starbuck who represents the Marxist-Leninist Party.
