Nipissing MPP Vic Fedeli wants the spring bear hunt reinstated permanently.
He made the statement in the Ontario legislature yesterday, saying that human and bear encounters continue to be an issue in northern communities. Fedeli says the Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunters has found the annual hunt minimizes human encounters, and brings 40-million dollars in economic activity into Ontario.
Fedeli also requested that the hunt be allowed to continue during the province’s review of the two year pilot project.
