Baylor University announces partnership with North Bay

Baylor University is partnering up with North Bay to come up with a long term economic development plan for the city.

The internationally respected American University will have graduate students create a strategic plan on how to improve the economic well-being and quality of life in the community. Development Corporation Board Director Kevin Hutchison is Graduate of Baylor Unversity, and helped bring the program to North Bay. He says a project of this scale would likely cost the city millions of dollars just to get off the ground.

The university has previously worked with Fortune 500 companies like Walmart, Dell, Coca-Cola and Microsoft through the same Focus Firm program. This is the first time they will be working with a municipality. The project begins this month and carries throughout next spring with a final presentation scheduled for April 2016.
