Council may support Community Living relocation

North Bay city councillors might ignore a staff recommendation and approve a re-zoning for Community Living.  The agency wants to leave its downtown location and move to a building it owns on Wallace in a light industrial zone area.  Staff oppose this because they say the re-zoning conflicts with the Official Plan.  The DIA also opposes the move.  Although community works chair councillor Mark King, is sympathetic to the DIA position, he says the current site no longer meets Community Living’s needs.  King adds the current building is not accessible to disabled people.
