Another bear sighting in Laurentian Escarpment

A mother bear has bluff charged at a man in the Laurentian Escarpment Conservation Area.

The man was running along the Hydro Line when he surprised the bear and her cubs yesterday. The bear snorted and came within eight feet of him, before stopping and banging her front paws on the trail.

This is the second sighting of the bears in the last couple of days. The North Bay Mattawa Conservation Authority is asking bikers, runners, and hikers to be cautious if they choose the trails in the escarpment.
