The North Bay community is coming together to help with the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Syria.
North Bay Mayor Al McDonald and his wife have set up a sponsor group of local citizens to help bring a family of four Syrian refugees to Ontario. In less than a week, $10,000 has been raised towards the cause.
McDonald says it was the picture of the three-year-old drowned Syrian boy that hit home. The cost of sponsoring a family of four is $27,000. So far over 58 people have donated.
