Fedeli: Liberals could force teachers to strike

Nipissing MPP Vic Fedeli says the Wynne Liberals have created a precarious situation with school right around the corner.  He says teachers and support staff will soon be in a strike position and yet the Liberals have set aside almost no time for contract talks.  Fedeli says as a result, parents are becoming nervous.   It`s because parents need to know now if they need daycare for their young school-aged children in the event of a strike  Fedeli says the Liberals have an “I-don`t-care-attitude“ because they`re waiting till the 11th hour to work out education contracts.   He says they`ve had all year to bargain with educators but are waiting until the last minute.  In addition, in the event of a strike, the Tory MPP says school boards are taking preventative measures and are starting to cancel field trips and sports events that normally begin right after school starts.
