This year’s South River-Machar Agricultural Fall Fair coincides with the September 11th attacks in the U.S. Because of the timing, the agricultural society will hold a Parade of Heroes for the first time ever to honour emergency personnel. The parade features firefighters and other first responders who will march through South River to the fairgrounds. That’s immediately followed by a ceremony thanking the men and women who make sacrifices to protect others. The parade takes place Friday evening on the 11th and quite a few free events take place the next day.
