The community is mourning the death of a 17-year-old East Ferris boy today.
Kurtis Schoen passed away in hospital on Saturday night following a single motorcycle collision in East Ferris. He was the only person on the bike, and was transported to the North Bay Regional Health Centre by helicopter.
Schoen attended West Ferris Secondary School and was involved in several team sports including hockey and football. He was also a referee and worked in maintenance at Jack Garland Airport. The OPP say an investigation into the crash is ongoing.
