Students are benefiting after breakfast and nutrition programs at 27 area schools received funding from Rotary Club of North Bay.
More than $42,000 was delivered to the four local boards and Nibisiing Secondary School.
“The Rotary Club of North Bay is pleased to provide support for the nutritional programs to so many schools here in North Bay and surrounding communities” stated Jeff Hobbs, club president. “Much of club’s focus continues to be on supporting numerous youth initiatives and programs.”
Funding amounts include:
- Near North District School Board received $12,500
- Nipissing-Parry Sound Catholic District School Board (NPSC) received $8,500
- Conseil scolaire catholique Franco-Nord received $5,300
- Conseil scolaire public du Nord-Est de l’Ontario received $4,100

Paula Mann, NPSC Director of Education, says they’re grateful for the Rotary Club of North Bay’s donation.
“This contribution will directly benefit students across our board by supporting food security and nourishing them in body, mind, and spirit,” says Mann.
Officials say research proves that breakfast and nutritional programs are a significant and impactful way to support a child’s education and development.
