With MPPs back at Queen’s Park, Ontario’s New Democrats are outlining their priorities for the north.
The Official Opposition says it’s focused on practical solutions for issues facing Northern communities.
“Increased cost of living, food insecurity, and unaffordable housing significantly add to the everyday challenges,“ says Sol Mamakwa, Deputy Leader of the Official Opposition NDP. “Putting food on the table or accessing safe drinking water should never be a concern in a province as rich as Ontario.”
Mamakwa says they’re presenting solutions to lower the cost of living and to make housing more affordable.
Other priorities include bringing more healthcare professionals to the region and fighting for good jobs that boost the economy and public health care.
