The operator of a snowmobile has died after his sled collided with a motor vehicle during the afternoon New Year’s Day near Sault Ste. Marie. The collision took place on Highway 556 also known as Ranger Lake Road. The snowmobiler was transported to hospital by air ambulance but died as a result of his injuries. The man’s name has not yet been released as police continue the investigation.
