Community Living North Bay and Battalion defenceman Ty Nelson are teaming up to offer a new program.
Ty’s Troops is a special initiative that sees Nelson actively participate in a range of activities alongside members of Community Living North Bay, including everything from cooking to DrumFit, community gatherings and more.
“We’re really looking to create memorable and inclusive experiences through activities and sports here at Community Living and in the community as well,” says Marianne Raymond, Communications and Marketing Director with Community Living North Bay. “Ty Nelson is really a vibrant personality for the North Bay Battalion, and it meshes so well with Community Living and our mission.”
The first event is a pumpkin carving session on Tuesday, Oct. 24.
Funds are also being collected for the Community Living North Bay Outcomes Fund, which is designed to support individuals with an intellectual disability achieve their goals and aspirations.
“When people contribute to the fund not only are they partaking in memorable experiences but also they’re making a tangible difference in the lives of those that we support,” says Raymond.
Details on upcoming events will be announced on Community Living’s social networks.
