The province’s investment in local ambulance services is now $6,740,000.
Vic Fedeli, Nipissing MPP, made the announcement today. The funds are going to the District of Nipissing Social Services Administration Board (DNSSAB), through the province’s Land Ambulance Service Grant.
Fedeli says the money will help connect people to emergency care faster.
“Increasing financial support for our local ambulance operations is great news for Nipissing and is one more way our government is connecting people to convenient and consistent health care closer to home,” said MPP Vic Fedeli. “This important investment in emergency services will help to improve access to healthcare throughout our community.”
Mark King, DSSAB Chair, says the board is grateful for the continued support of local Paramedic Services.
“Today’s announcement of the Land Ambulance Service Grant in the amount of $6.7 million dollars represents a 6.5% increase,” he says. “And will contribute to sustainability of Paramedic Services through this co-funding model across the District of Nipissing.”
