Labour Day is a Statutory Holiday in Ontario with the usual retail and government office closures coming up on Monday.
That includes the Municipal Office, which will reopen on Tuesday morning.
Officials also say the Field Landfill will be open, however, the Sturgeon Falls Landfill won’t be. Due to the long weekend, the free Saturday of the month will take place on Sept. 9.
The Community and Recreation Centre’s pool will be closed this Saturday, along with gym and pool closures on Monday as well.
Meantime, the North Bay and District Labour Council is holding its 18th annual Labour Day picnic on Monday. The free event runs from noon to 3 pm at the Kiwanis Bandshell at the waterfront.
Officials say there will be free food, bouncy castles and information booths. The theme this year focuses on Canada’s unions.
