‘Alone Across Canada’ trek travels through the area

An Innisfil man is venturing ‘Alone Across Canada’ to raise money for two charitable organizations.

“Back in March, I started walking across Canada.  It was the original goal.  I started in Victoria, BC and ultimately, I got injured so I switched to a bike to complete the journey,” says Adrian Collison. “My goal is to travel across Canada under my own power while raising money and awareness for the Kidney Foundation of Canada and the Canadian Mental Health Association.”

After traveling through Sturgeon Falls, he stopped in North Bay on Sunday night and says he has about two months to go before he gets to his destination in Cape Spear, Newfoundland.

Collison says he’s had plenty of support along the way.

“That’s probably the best part is the people you meet on the way,” Collison says. “Everyone has been super pleasant and helpful.  It really picks up the morale throughout the day as I meet people, especially roadside.”

The fundraising goal is $10,000 with a GoFundMe page set up.

Along with being a fundraiser, Collison says the trek is a mental and life reset.
