Area police say the Ontario Law Enforcement Torch Run is the largest public awareness campaign and grass-roots fundraiser for Special Olympics.
A couple of events are taking place in our area on Tuesday.
The Nipissing West OPP is holding a torch run at 12:30 pm at Community Living in Sturgeon Falls.
All ages are welcome to run, jog, walk or bike with Ontario Provincial Police members and local Special Olympians.

Officials say all funds raised across the province help provide a year-round program of fitness, recreation, and competition for Special Olympic athletes.
Members of the North Bay Police Service and local Special Olympic Athletes are also taking part in a Torch Run Tuesday morning.
