Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) report one person has died after a four-vehicle crash on Highway 17 in West Nipissing on Tuesday.
Nipissing West OPP, paramedics and firefighters responded to the collision just before 5:30 pm.
Police say a 61-year-old resident of West Nipissing was transported to the local hospital with life-threatening injuries and later succumbed to their injuries.
There were no other injuries and the highway was closed in both directions for over six hours, according to the OPP.
The investigation continues with assistance from members of the OPP Traffic Incident Management Enforcement Team.
