Catch the Ace prize reaching new heights

The progressive pot in Rotary’s Catch the Ace draw continues to grow.

The estimated prize for this Wednesday’s draw is $27,000.

“This is the biggest jackpot we’ve had,” says Don Coutts, Treasurer with the Rotary Club of North Bay.  “We’ve gone one or two licenses for 40 weeks.  [This one] we’ve done 35 weeks so there is still 17 cards left.”

If the Ace isn’t found on Wednesday, the person whose ticket is selected wins 20 percent of that week’s sales.

“Last week, the person that won it won $1,422,” he says.

The money raised goes towards Rotary Club community service projects and initiatives.

“All of the money stays here in North Bay and the surrounding area,” Coutts says. “Through our other lottery stuff, we’ve donated money to organizations in Mattawa, West Nipissing, Callander and Powassan.  The money is staying here.”

The next Catch The Ace draw is taking place Wednesday, Feb. 8 on YourTV (Cogeco TV) Cable 12/HD Cable 700 at approximately 7:10 pm.

Tickets are $5 each and can be purchased online at rotarycatchtheace.ca or in-person at East End Variety, at the corner of Hardy and Mahar in North Bay.
