Federal NDP leader Tom Mulcair says if mining companies expect the Ring of Fire to see the light of day, then they need to involve First Nations. Mulcair visited the prospectors and developers convention in Toronto where he told delegates he conditionally supports the chromite discovery. The condition is mining companies have to work with First Nations when developing the site. Mulcair says the Harper government policies are an obstacle to this joint co-operation but the NDP would change that.
