Traffic stop in West Nipissing leads to drug and weapons-related counts

Drug and firearms-related charges have been filed after Ontario Provincial Police stopped a vehicle on Front Street in West Nipissing just after midnight Wednesday.

The OPP says a search of the vehicle resulted in a gun and about $12,000 worth of suspected cocaine being seized.

Three people, from Ottawa, Brampton and M’Chigeeng First Nation, are charged with drug possession for the purpose of trafficking and four weapons-related counts.

All three were held for bail hearings (Dec. 22) at the North Bay Court House.
