DNSSAB paramedic services transition complete

The transition of the paramedic services team to the District of Nipissing Social Services Administration Board (DNSSAB) is complete.

The board also announced it has welcomed nearly 100 Primary and Advanced Care Paramedics to the organization.

DNSSAB decided in late 2021 to move Paramedic Services from a third party contracted model to a direct delivery model, mirroring most of Ontario’s Emergency Service.

The leadership team was put in place this past July with Stephen Kirk named the new Chief of Paramedic Services.

“This has been a huge undertaking and DNSSAB is very pleased the process is now complete,” says DNSSAB CAO, Catherine Matheson. “Heartfelt thanks go to everyone who worked so hard to make this happen, including Rob Smith who was the transition lead, and big welcome to all paramedics to the DNSSAB team.”

The board previously stated that direct delivery of paramedic services positions DNSSAB to respond more nimbly to emerging trends and challenges while potentially enhancing opportunities to work collaboratively with community health and social service partners.
