West Nipissing is inviting the community out to kick off the holidays with the annual tree lighting ceremony.
The municipality says the official countdown and lighting of the tree will take place at 7 pm Friday, Nov. 25 at the corner of John and King Street at Community Living’s Drop-In Centre.
Officials are collecting non-perishable food items to be donated to the West Nipissing Food Bank.
Along with guest speakers, there are carolers, treats and hot chocolate, the winning name of the West Nipissing holiday mascot will be announced and more.
The municipality says after the tree lighting, everyone is encouraged to walk down King Street to check out the business storefront decorations and see the new lights at the community fountain.
