The province is injecting money into hospitals and health care facilities in Ontario, including West Nipissing General.
Across Ontario, $182 million will be sent to 131 hospitals and 65 health care facilities for upgrades such as fixing or replacing roofs, windows, fire alarms and back-up generators.
“Our government is investing in health care infrastructure is part of our plan to create a more modern, better-connected health care system focused on the needs of patients and building capacity to end hallway health care,” states a Ministry of Health spokesperson. “The West Nipissing General Hospital will be receiving over $1.6 million through this funding.”
In Nipissing, the Mattawa General Hospital receives $900,000 while the over $350,000 is going to the North Bay Regional Health Centre.
