A 27-year-old man has been charged with careless driving following a crash in West Nipissing. Yesterday, at around 10 AM, an SUV was travelling eastbound on Highway 17, when it crashed into an eastbound pick-up. Five people were involved, but luckily none were seriously injured. The OPP say that alcohol, road, and environmental conditions were not a factor in the crash.
A 52-year-old Mattawa man also faces a careless driving charging after a transport truck overturned on Highway 17 West in Sturgeon Falls. The truck was carrying several logs and swerved to miss a stopped car in the westbound lane. It ended up spilling the logs onto the highway. THe driver had minor injuries and was taken to hospital.
