Northern mayors hoping to secure infrastructure funding…

Mayor Al McDonald and four other northern mayors are hoping to secure infrastructure funding from the provincial government. They are writing a proposal to the liberals, asking for the province to invest in two high priority projects of each municipalities choosing. One of the investments would be for critical infrastructure, and the other for economic development infrastructure. Mayor Al McDonald says they are hoping to present the proposal to Premier Kathleen Wynn and several other ministers at the AMO conference in August. The Liberals recently announced an 11-billion dollar infrastructure plan for the Toronto/Hamilton area.
