OPP investigating two deaths in Sturgeon Falls

The deaths of two people are being investigated after police and fire crews responded to a house fire in Sturgeon Falls. 

Ontario Provincial Police say officers with the West Nipissing Detachment were called to the fire scene on Quesnel Road around 9 am Wednesday, Nov. 2. 

Police say two people were located deceased. 

The OPP says the cause of death has not yet been confirmed, but investigators believe there is no imminent threat to public safety. 

Various OPP units are investigating along with the Office of the Fire Marshal (OFM) and the Office of the Chief Coroner for Ontario and Ontario Forensic Pathology service (OCCO-OFPS).

Police say residents in the area can expect to see a large police presence.
