Municipal election results are being certified around the area.
However, some area results, at last check, are still unofficial including those in North Bay, Bonfield, Callander and Powassan.
With incumbents not running in North Bay and Mattawa, new mayors were elected in both communities.
Peter Chirico is the new mayor of North Bay while Raymond Bélanger won the mayor’s chair in Mattawa.

There’s a new mayor in Bonfield, where Narry Paquette won with 58 percent of the vote. Incumbent Randy McLaren was third.
In Callander, Rob Noon won re-election, as did Peter McIsaac in Powassan.
East Ferris Mayor Pauline Rochefort and Papineau-Cameron’s Robert Corriveau were both acclaimed.
