Angel investor event seeking entrepreneurs

Entrepreneurs, innovators and businesses in need of start-up capital are being encouraged to apply to North Bay Pitch 2022.  

The mid-October event will see applicants pitch their ideas, products, services or businesses to hundreds of northern investors.  

Those looking to commercialize, scale-up or expand their business are also encouraged to apply.

“This is your opportunity to pitch to over 400 accredited investors in the Northern Ontario Angels (NOA) network,” said Ian Lane, Executive Director.  “Angel investing plays an essential role in economic development. Whether you are an active or potential angel, an aspiring entrepreneur or simply interested in strengthening our business community, we hope you will join us at the North Bay Pitch.”

The event, hosted by the NOA network and Innovation Initiatives Ontario North, takes place Oct. 13 at the Nipissing University Student Centre. 

“Supporting start-ups and promoting entrepreneurship help to create an environment for business success,” says North Bay Mayor Al McDonald. “Northern Ontario Angels is the kind of initiative that will help grow our city by providing investment capital that will create new employment opportunities and wealth.”

Officials say since 2005, Northern Ontario Angels has closed over 480 deals with more than $712 million dollars invested, creating over 6,000 full-time and 2,500 part-time jobs.
