It’s official, there’s now a race for the mayoral seat in West Nipissing.
Current Councillor Dan Roveda has thrown his hat in the ring.
Councillor Roveda chairs the Water and Sewer board and is also on the town’s planning advisory committee. He also represents West Nipissing on both the District of Nipissing Social Services Administration Board and the North Bay Parry Sound District Health Unit.
As of Monday morning, there’s only one other candidate, marketing business owner and former chamber president Kathleen Thorne Rochon.
There are six councillor candidates, two each in wards 2 and 3, and one candidate so far in wards 6 and 8.
Election Day is Monday, October 24.
