Mattawa Voyageur Days returns July 22-24

We’re only a couple of weeks away from the return of Mattawa Voyageur Days.

The July 22-24 festival will be the town’s 23rd and the first since 2019 because of the pandemic.

Renee Paquette, Mattawa’s Recreation & Facilities Services Manager, says the “New Country” line-up on Friday night includes Lipstick Rodeo, Nice Horse and a familiar local artist as the headliner.

“Cory Marks from North Bay. We’re pretty excited to have him leading,” she says. “Saturday night we have local band Toe Jam Tequilla, and we’re following that with The Trews, which we’re super excited to have them.  Closing off on Saturday is The Sheepdogs.”

Sunday features Tom Petty, Fleetwood Mac and Abba tribute bands, followed by a laser show at 10 pm.

Paquette also says there are plenty of daytime activities, too.

“The entertainment during the day is going to be phenomenal, from BMX shows to a gaming trailer for the kids, to pony rides, there’s something for everyone,” she says. “We even have a beer garden downtown.”

Paquette says there’s also axe throwing, helicopter rides, inflatables, vendors and music downtown, too.

Weekend wristbands are $75 and are available online at voyageurdays.ca
