Job postings in Nipissing dropped month-over-month in April.
The Labour Market Groups says there were 628 job postings that month. That’s nearly 100 fewer, or a bit more than 13 percent, compared to March.
However, it is significantly above the five-year average for April, by nearly 58 percent.
“This significant shift is still very much attributed to the change in collection methods for this project,” states the LMG report.
April saw 310 unique employers posting jobs, which is also significantly above the 5-year April average.
The top five employers posting jobs in April were the North Bay Regional Health Centre, Voyageur Aviation, the District of Nipissing Social Services Administration Board, Cascades Casino and the Near North District School Board.
‘Health care and Social Assistance’ tops the list of industries hiring, followed by Retail Trade.
‘Accommodation and Food Services’ rounds out the top three.
