$120,000 drugs off West Nipissing streets

Five people are facing a slew of charges after the OPP executed a search warrant at a Demers Street home.

Police say a search of the residence and a vehicle on April 20 led to the seizure of cellphones, cash, and drugs suspected to be: fentanyl, cocaine and methamphetamine.

Police report the value of the drugs seized is believed to be approximately $120,000.

As a result of the investigation:

A 26-year-old from West Nipissing was arrested and charged with:

  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance- Cocaine, contrary to section 4(1) of the CDSA
  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Opioid (other than heroin), contrary to section 4(1) of the CDSA
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking-Opioid (other than heroin), contrary to section 5(2) of the CDSA
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine, contrary to section 5(2) of the CDSA
  • Fail to Comply with Probation Order, contrary to section 733.1(1) of the CC

The accused was held for bail court, then remanded back into custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on May 5, 2021, in West Nipissing.

A 46-year-old from West Nipissing was arrested and charged with:

  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine, contrary to section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs Substance Act (CDSA)
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Methamphetamine, contrary to section 5(2) of the CDSA
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking-Opioid (other than heroin), contrary to section 5(2) of the CDSA

The accused was released on an Undertaking and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on June 2, 2022, in West Nipissing.

A 22-year-old from Scarborough was arrested and charged with:

  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine, contrary to section 5(2) of the CDSA
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Methamphetamine, contrary to section 5(2) of the CDSA
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking-Opioid (other than heroin), contrary to section 5(2) of the CDSA
  • Possession Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000 – in Canada, contrary to section 354(1)(a) of the Criminal Code (CC)

The accused was held for bail court, then released on a court order and is to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on May 5, 2022, in West Nipissing.

A 26-year-old from Toronto was arrested and charged with:

  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine, contrary to section 5(2) of the CDSA
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking-Opioid (other than heroin), contrary to section 5(2) of the CDSA
  • Possession Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000 – in Canada, contrary to section 354(1)(a) of the CC

A 22-year-old from Newmarket was arrested and charged with:

  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine, contrary to section 5(2) of the CDSA
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Methamphetamine, contrary to section 5(2) of the CDSA
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking-Opioid (other than heroin), contrary to section 5(2) of the CDSA
  • Possession Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000 – in Canada, contrary to section 354(1)(a) of the CC

The accused was held for bail court, then released on a court order and is to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on May 5, 2022, in West Nipissing.
