Nearly 500 jobs were posted in Nipissing District in February.
That’s slightly below January’s figures but is nearly 27 percent higher than the 5-year average for February.
The Labour Market Group says it’s attributed to a change in collection methods.
260 employers posted jobs in February which is also significantly higher than the five-year average.

The top five employers were:
- North Bay Regional Health Centre
- Near North District School Board
- Cascades Casino
- Voyageur Aviation Corp
- West Nipissing General Hospital
Health care & social assistance was the top hiring industry followed by retail trade and manufacturing.
