You’ll still need masks at both area hospitals

Mask mandates may be changing for most settings on Monday, but health care is not one of them.

West Nipissing General Hospital has a message posted on their website, asking that all patients and visitors wear a mask/face covering as an added step to reduce the spread of germs and to protect their vulnerable patients.

“Patients, clients and visitors who do not present with a mask/face covering will be asked to return once they obtain a mask/face covering,” states the online message.

The North Bay Regional Health Centre issued a release saying staff, patients and care partners entering the Health Centre will continue to be screened and wear masks.

“At this time, we have not changed the mandatory vaccination requirement for Care Partners and will continue to require proof of vaccination before entering the hospital,” states the release.

The hospital says the safety of their patients and the hospital community is, and always has been their number one priority.
