Over 2,000 patients being treated for COVID-19 in Ontario hospitals, 72 new deaths reported

Over 2,900 people are being treated for COVID-19 in hospitals across Ontario.

The province reported 2,939 patients are being treated in general hospital wards, down 152 from Tuesday.

555 people are in intensive care with the virus, 13 fewer than Tuesday.

Sadly, 72 more deaths were reported with 67 from the past 24 days.

There were 3,909 new cases reported but experts continue to caution the real number of cases is much higher with the exact amount not clear because the majority of Ontario’s population does not have access to PCR testing.
