Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for much of the northeast, including our area, Sunday afternoon through Monday.
A winter storm is expected.
Heavy snow with accumulations of 10 to 25 cm, and strong winds, are possible.
There’s also a risk of freezing rain for some areas and heavy rain for others.
The weather agency says it’s all thanks to a strengthening low-pressure system that is expected to track east across the Great Lakes Sunday through Monday.
However, there’s still some uncertainty with the track of the system which could result in a change in snowfall amounts and areas affected by freezing rain and heavy rain.
