Main Street search warrant yields over $110,000 of drugs

Over $110,000 worth of drugs are now off the streets of West Nipissing.

The OPP executed a search warrant last Thursday at an apartment on Main Street.

The OPP says, as a result, police seized over 240 grams of suspected Fentanyl, over 77 grams of suspected Heroin, almost 40 grams of suspected Cocaine, numerous suspected Hydromorphone capsules, almost 20 grams of suspected Crystal Methamphetamine, and almost 260 Methamphetamine Speed tablets.

The estimated street value of the drugs was approximately $113,000.

Police say they also found two stolen firearms, three stolen bicycles, and three cell phones.

Two people were inside the home and are facing charges.

A 45-year-old from Sturgeon Falls was charged with:

  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Fentanyl, contrary to section 5(2) of the CDSA
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine, contrary to section 5(2) of the CDSA
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Other Drugs, contrary to section 5(2) of the CDSA
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Methamphetamine, contrary to section 5(2) of the CDSA
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Heroin, contrary to section 5(2) of the CDSA,
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000 (Two Counts), contrary to section 354(1)(a) of the Criminal Code (CC)
  • Unauthorized Possession of a Weapon, contrary to section 91(2) of the CC
  • Breach of Firearms Regulations, contrary to section 86(2) of the CC
  • Possession of a Firearm Contrary to Prohibition Order, contrary to section 117.01(1) of the CC

The accused was scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice Bail Court in West Nipissing on November 5, 2021.

A 23 years-old, of no fixed address, was charged with:

  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Methamphetamine, contrary to section 5(2) of the CDSA and is

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in West Nipissing on December 2, 2021.
