Kids Safe Halloween cancelled for second year in a row

For the second year in a row the Kids’ Safe Halloween will not be taking place.

The municipality shared the news earlier today, saying it’s due to public health recommendations and the current restrictions in place for large events.

“The Marcel Noël Hall continues to serve as the COVID-19 Assessment Centre and the site for vaccination clinics,” a release reads. “Our annual Halloween event typically attracts hundreds of families. Amit the 4th wave of the pandemic, it is important to do everything we can to protect those who cannot be immunized and prevent the spread of the virus.”

The municipality says it is hopeful the event resumes next year.
