The OPP is having a traffic safety initiative over the long weekend and Nipissing West OPP will be participating.
The initiative will focus on the big four; impaired driving, distracted driving, speeding and not wearing seatbelts.
The force says everyone should expect to see higher volumes of traffic on the weekend and officers will have a zero-tolerance policy for drivers who direct anything less than 100 per cent of their attention to driving.
Police say if you suspect someone is operating a vehicle, water vessel or off-road vehicle while under the influence to call 9-1-1 to ensure everyone has a safe and enjoyable long weekend.
