Nipissing West OPP charge two North Bay residents

Two North Bay residents are facing charges after separate investigations by Nipissing West OPP.

At 4:55 pm on Tuesday, September 21st, Ontario Provincial Police responded to a theft from a hardware store on Highway 17 in Sturgeon Falls.

Police located and stopped a vehicle a short time later with a 49-year-old North Bay resident charged with theft under $5,000, possession of property obtained by crime and resisting a peace officer.

The accused has an October 28th court appearance.

In the second incident at 11:30 pm on Thursday, September 23rd, Nipissing West OPP stopped a vehicle on Front Street in Sturgeon Falls.

It’s alleged the driver from North Bay had an outstanding warrant from the North Bay Police Service.

The OPP says a search resulted in two edged weapons being seized.

The 34-year-old was charged with weapon possession and has an October 28th court appearance.

The accused was then transported to the North Bay Police Service in relation to the warrant.
