News Research money reduced for land claims SHARE ON: Rocco Frangione, staff Thursday, Feb. 27th, 2014 The Grand Council Chief of the Anishinabek Nation says Prime Minister Harper is being bizarre and contradictory. Pat Madahbee was reacting to the federal government’s decision to reduce land claim research funds. Madahbee says first Harper wants to reconcile with First Nations and now he’s creating a divide. There are currently 800 unresolved land claims spread across Canada. The Grand Council Chief says it will be very difficult to resolve those outstanding claims without proper funding.
