Intramural and inter-school sports and clubs are returning to the Near North District School Board (NNDSB).
That announcement from the board, which also says NNDSB schools will take part in OFSAA-organized championships and festivals this fall.
The Near North Board is consulting with the North Bay Parry Sound District Health Unit and other area boards to develop health and safety protocols that align with Ministry of Education and public health guidance.
NNDSB also says practices and seasons may have later start dates as boards work together.
They also say sports may be cancelled if advised by public health.
“The pandemic is causing delays in decision-making that are frustrating to everyone,” states a release. “Because the safety and well-being of staff and students is an NNDSB priority, the timeframe of announcements reflects the careful consideration of our decisions.”
