UPDATE: OPP advise there’s no longer a safety concern in Pickerel River Forest Access Road area

UPDATE (1 pm) OPP report one person has been arrested after members of the West Parry Sound OPP along with the OPP specialty units responded to the incident. The OPP would like to advise the public that there is no longer a safety concern in the Pickerel River Forest Access Road area.

The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating an armed and dangerous person incident.  

The public is being asked to stay away from the Pickerel River Forest Access Road area. 

The Pickerel River is south of the French River in the Highway 69 area. 

Police say the suspect involved is a 34-year-old man driving an ATV.
