Mandatory COVID-19 vaccinations for Canadore students in residence

Canadore College says COVID-19 vaccinations will be mandatory for students living in residence this fall.

The college has issued a release stating all students in residence must have a minimum of their first dose of a Health Canada approved vaccine, then receive their second dose by October 15th.

On-campus COVID-19 vaccination clinics will be scheduled for early September at all North Bay campus locations, including a residence move-in vaccination clinic.

The clinics will be open to all domestic and international students, as well as college employees.

Details will be announced when they are confirmed.

Students and employees at Canadore’s West Parry Sound Campus are encouraged to get their COVID-19 vaccinations at the earliest vaccination clinic or pharmacy.

The college does say exemptions for medical or religious grounds protected under the Ontario Human Rights Code will be considered with the proper documentation.

Canadore also says students who choose not to live in residence as a result of this decision will be refunded their deposits without penalty.

Right now, the mandatory vaccine program is for students in residence only and does not impact other on-campus program and service delivery.

The college continues to encourage everyone who is eligible to be vaccinated to do so as soon as possible.
