Former Price is Right host Bob Barker is opposing the return of the spring bear hunt in parts of Northern Ontario. Barker says the hunt will result in new born cubs starving to death when hunters kill their mothers who are looking for food. The Ontario government is introducing a trial return of the hunt to protect people from bear encounters. But Barker says the Ministry of Natural Resources says this won’t happen. The MNR says most bear-people interactions are because we leave garbage out that hungry bears go after. Barker wants residents to tell their MPPs that they oppose the hunt.
