OPP reports a fatal crash west of North Bay

One person is dead after a head-on collision on Highway 17 West of North Bay.

The Ontario Provincial Police says two vehicles collided just before 1 pm Sunday west of Trap and Skeet Road, Nipissing First Nation.

OPP reports a passenger in the westbound vehicle was pronounced deceased at hospital while the driver suffered minor injuries.  

The driver of the east bound vehicle sustained serious non-life threatening injuries. 

Police say the highway was reopened at about 6:30 pm. 

Meantime, North Bay OPP responded to a single vehicle rollover on Highway 11 in Powassan just after 3:30 pm Sunday.  

The incident happened in the northbound lanes at Clark Street. 

OPP says the Powassan Fire Department assisted with extricating some of the four people in the vehicle.  

All four people were brought to the hospital. 

Police report one of the passengers sustained serious non-life-threatening injuries, while the other three people sustained minor injuries.
