Vaccine standby list open to those eligible for second dose

The North Bay Parry Sound District Health Unit says their COVID-19 vaccine standby list is now open to those eligible for their second dose.

Right now that includes individuals who are 70 years or older or those who received their first dose on or before April 18th.

The standby list resets each day at 9 am.

In late May, a week after the standby list was launched, Andrea McLellan, Director of COVID-19 Immunization Strategy, said it was going “very, very well”.

“People submit their names onto the list on a daily basis wherever clinics are being held and at the end of the clinics they are called if there are additional doses available,” says McLellan.  “It has the benefit of getting a few extra people in for an immunization and it has the benefit of us not wasting any vaccine at all.”

The Health Unit says residents can fill out the form on their website on the days they’re available to stop in, as the data collected on previous days gets deleted.

They also say they are not accepting walk-ins.
